Who should take this course?
This PADI Pro course is designed for scuba divers in mind, who wish to share their passion for diving and bring their skills and abilities to a whole new level.
Scuba divers, respect and look up to Divemasters for advice, help and reassurance. They act as leaders, who motivate and mentor others, share their experiences and enjoy seeing others have as much fun diving as you do. The PADI Divemaster course is your first step of professional training. Working side by side with your PADI Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills to instructor level, refine rescue skills allowing you to anticipate and easily solve common problems. Dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities will be gained during the course so you become a role model to divers everywhere.
As a PADI Divemaster you’ll lead others, supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. Whether you want to work at a faraway destination or at a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you PADI Divemasters are respected dive professionals who are members of the largest and most respected dive organisation in the world – PADI.
What will you learn?
The PADI Divemaster course, covers a multitude of areas that you will become familiar with throughout your training. Learning to become a leader and take charge of dive activities will be practiced through knowledge development sessions, workshops, water skills and hands-on assessments. You will develop skills enabling you to organise and direct different scuba diving activities.

What scuba gear will you use?
As a diving professional, you will want to own all your own basic scuba equipment, which should include a dive computer, dive knife, compass and minimum of two surface signaling devices
During training, you will use a lifting bag, floats, marker buoys, underwater slates, dive lights and other additional gear recommended by your PADI Instructor that you will find usefull during your diving career

What learning materials do you require?
Here you have two options:
Sign up for Divemaster Online, this is PADI’s eLearning option to start now. You work through eight knowledge development sections using an easy to use web-based system that allows you to learn at your own pace. It takes you step-by-step through dive physics, physiology, skills, equipment and environment, plus a Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) review. By successfully completing Dive Theory Online, you can get credit for half of the Divemaster Final Exam. Access to an online version of the Divemaster Manual for reference during and after the course is available.

The classroom option is to study by reading the Divemaster Manual and watching the Divemaster Video (a book and DVD package). Visit DiveSMART Gozo to enroll in the course and get your Divemaster Crew-Pack, which also includes other reference materials – such as the PADI Instructor Manual and The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving – that you will need during the course.
