Underwater photography, or videography is one of the most popular diving specialities which allows you to capture great images, or sound and motion diving stories in video format. Through PADIs Scuba Earth®, or other social media platforms you can share underwater masterpieces with friends and family.
Who should take this course?
The PADI Digital Imaging course gives you the opportunity to use either video or photo imaging. Video is the best way to share motion, sound, sights and the dynamics of the underwater world. Photography images allow you to take photographs in much detail with close-up macro shots, or of fellow dive Buddies This course gets you going with underwater imaging quickly, allowing you to create videos and photos that are interesting and entertaining.
What will you learn?
Underwater cameras and video equipment come in all shapes and forms. Maybe you use a point and shoot camera, or a camera which has a housing unit. Video cameras may have external lighting systems, or even GO-Pro cameras can easily be used. You will learn about:
Caring and maintaining your camera or video equipment
How to choose the correct underwater camera or video system for you
Use the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine, Adjust) method to achieve great shots quickly with your camera
Learn good composition underwater
Focus, exposure and story lines using a video
Shot sequencing and shot types
Post dive editing showing you how to improve your photos or videos
What scuba gear will you use?
Basic scuba diving equipment
Digital underwater camera or video
Computer, laptop or other device for downloading and reviewing your images.

Studying with the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer manual and watching the Digital Underwater Photographer DVD in our classroom, along with your PADI Instructor. The Crew Pack contains both manual DVD and a white balance slate
Register online now with PADI to start your eLearning program immediately. The web-based course guides you through the principals behind great underwater imaging, which equally applies to video as well as photography. The eLearning program allows you to study at your own pace, using the interactive system and giving you access to an online version of the Digital Underwater Photography Manual. By completing your study on line, you will be ready to complete both specialty courses, The Digital Underwater Photographer and the Underwater Videographer

Minimum PADI Junior Open Water Diver or equivalent from another diving training agency
Participants under 18 years old require parent or guardian consent
