The PADI Adventures in Diving course gives you a taste of fun and adventure, take your diving experience to another level.
Want to discover something new? Have you always wanted to try out digital underwater photography, fish identification or night diving? There’s a long list of scuba adventures you can take part in during this PADI program. Complete just three Adventure Dives and will you earn the Adventure Diver certification. It provides a great opportunity to work with your PADI instructor to build your scuba skills and gain more confidence. Get a taste of what you would like and enjoy scuba diving more than ever. The PADI Adventures in Diving course is the first step to completing the PADI Advanced course.
Who should take this course?
You can choose three PADI Adventure dives to improve your skills, knowledge and confidence underwater. Your PADI Instructor will guide you through the list of Adventure Dives that we have on offer, check them out!
This course is tailor-made for adventurous divers, who wish to get more out of diving by exploring new territory. Learn to use new, exciting pieces of kit, accessories and gadgets. Under direct supervision of a PADI Pro, you will gain knowledge and insight into things that interest you most.
If you have a tight schedule, then the PADI Adventure course is a good choice. Sample three of Adventure dives of your choice and still receive a PADI certification after completion.

Remember, learning good buoyancy on the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Course is key to all diving activities and helps to protect our stunning and fragile underwater world. The PADI Underwater Navigation Diver fine-tunes your compass skills in different ways, using both fin kick cycles and natural navigation. PADI Deep Diver Course gives you experience in gas management, planning dives with your Buddy and dealing with the physiological effects of scuba diving to deeper levels.
What scuba gear will you use?
Depending on the choice of Adventure dives, you will require the following:
- Basic scuba diving equipment
- Timing device or computer
Sometimes specialised equipment might be required for that specific dive that you chose. Your PADI Instructor will help you with this information.

You have two options available to complete the knowledge sections:
- Option 1: Classroom study
Using the Advanced Crew Pack for your classroom instruction, here at DiveSMART with your PADI Instructor. The crew pack contains a PADI Advanced Open Water manual and a DVD for your references.
The Advanced Open Water Diver online – this is PADI’s eLearning option to start your study immediately. It allows you to study at home at your own pace, using the interactive program for this course. You have access to an online version of the Adventures in Diving manual and can complete the required sections as bespoken by your PADI Instructor. The online system gives you access to a range of Adventure Dives, including the required Deep Diver and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. Boat Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck Diver, Underwater Naturalist and Night Diver are among some of the Adventure Dives to choose from.

- Participants must be10 years of age or older
- PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver certified or equivalent from another training agency.
- Participants under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian consent
- Complete a diver medical questionnaire declaring you are in good physical health
One to two days
- Three knowledge development sessions
- Three open water dives
- Including Advanced Manual or eLearning and PADI certification
- Including full scuba equipment
- Transport to and from the dive site

Check out the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course for your next step. You only require two more Adventure Dives to complete this course. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification must include the PADI Underwater Navigation and the PADI Deep Diver course.
Don’t forget, get credit!! Each Adventure Dive may credit towards the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a specialty diver course, ask your instructor if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive.
- 10-11-year-old certified PADI Junior Adventure Divers have a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet and must be accompanied by a certified parent, guardian or PADI Professional.
- 12-14-year-old certified PADI Junior Adventure Divers have a maximum depth of 21 metres/70 feet and must be accompanied by a certified adult.
